The Ending and the Aftermath

The threat to the unknown world defeated, the Storm Guard and their new allies set to the task of returning to Ptolus and the Vallis Moon.   The four new allies of the Guard (ref: Keelan, Orestes, Vreior, Theolan) insisted on accompanying them and aiding in the threat to our world, as the Storm Guard had done for theirs.

The eight allies arrived on the Vallis Moon, the first mortals to set foot there.

There, they discovered constructs from the gods themselves:  the mystical Chains of the World, which simultaneously locked the soul of the world Praemal into a plane of its own, separate even from the gods themselves, while also sealing the Galchutt inside for all time.   The Galchutt set on the Storm Guard immediately: the soul of the world would be their prize, while the chains, if broken, would be their doom:  severing the chains would exile the Galchutt into the arms of the waiting gods, who would banish them forever.

The details of the battle have been lost in the various retellings of the story, but all agree that the Storm Guard understood the chains should be severed, even if their lives were forfeit.  It did not come to that.   The last of the mythical chains were severed by their great strengths and abilities, and the Galchutt were drawn out instantly, banished forevermore.

The consequences of the victory were not fully felt until the months and years that followed.  The souls of the dead, heretofore trapped in our world, were now free to move on to the afterlife with the gods.   The result being that the Necropolis within Ptolus became considerably less dangerous, the restless dead no longer trapped within.

Similarly, the angels and devils that had long ago been trapped in this world were no longer; they could come and go as they please.

And finally with the entire plane of Praemal unlocked, and the Entropy Sphere within the Great Spire of Ptolus acting as a gateway, those with enough power could travel to worlds beyond.   Therein untapped potential for trade, exploration, and more.

The Storm Guard now live among our populace, and despite the veneration of the those that know the details, are able to pass along the city streets without being accosted as celebrities.  The details of their deeds too complex for most to understand outside the Inverted Pyramid, the Church of Lothian, and the academic among the elves and their stories of creation.
